Elizabeth Gets Excited About Ghost Hunter

Elizabeth: *doing the bootie shake of joy* FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY! Another Jayne Castle futuristic novel! Not that I’m a fan or anything like that, just her BIGGEST, MOST LOYAL—

Jayne: *smacks Elizabeth with a cold washcloth*

Elizabeth: *shakes head* Right. Thanks. I’m okay now. Ahem, as I was saying, I love your books under the Castle name—psychic romantic suspense with an out-of-this-world twist.

Jayne: Welcome back to my other world, Harmony. Local Guild boss and powerful ghost-hunter, Cooper Boone is everything botanist Elly St. Clair thought she wanted in a husband -- until she finds out the hard way that he's been keeping some dark Guild secrets. When the truth hits the morning papers, her career at the college hits the skids. Furious, she calls off the engagement, gives Cooper a piece of her mind and his ring and heads off for the big city, putting her small-town life in the rearview mirror.

Elizabeth: *rubs hands in glee* Oh, yeah, Elly is in BIG trouble. Your heroines don’t dump your heroes without peril—especially when the hero is a ghost hunter!

Jayne: Starting over in the thriving metropolis of Cadence actually goes fairly well for a while. Elly's got a new job, a new pet named Rose (who is very fond of jewelry) and a new wardrobe. (Let's just say her skirts are a lot shorter now and her heels are a lot higher). She has also sampled some of the big city nightlife, places like the Road to the Ruins, a dangerous nightclub where the patrons come to get buzzed on the psychic emanations from the ruins of an ancient alien civilization.

Elizabeth: Not bad for a LBH (little brown hen) who cancelled a marriage and took off for the bright lights of the big city.

Jayne: Not bad at all. Unfortunately trouble is coming. One of Elly's new friends has disappeared into the eerie, glowing green catacombs beneath the city streets. Elly is a powerful, highly unusual psychic. She knows that she is the only one who can go to the rescue. But she also knows she needs backup. Those underground tunnels are teeming with spooky hazards. What she needs is a ghost-hunter. And it just so happens that Cooper Boone is in town. Seems he's come looking for his runaway fiancée...

Elizabeth: Hoo-yah. Guess Elly finally got his attention.

Jayne: Big-time. And she's about to find out that the old saying is true, be careful what you wish for...

Elizabeth: Readers, run, don't walk to your nearest bookstore to pick up your copy of GHOST HUNTER. Or buy it online at any of the links below. *Races off to get one. Or three. Books wear out so fast these days!*

Jayne: One word of warning: GHOST HUNTER has been arriving in stores in a somewhat erratic fashion. You might want to call first, just to make sure it is in stock...

Jayne - Just called Borders and Barnes and Nobles. Both have got it! I am off to get my book. I love your futuristics, actually all of your books. Just read SECOND SIGHT. Wonderful! Gabe and Venetia make a stunning couple and I adore Venetia's family.

Wow. Harmony and the Guild. I hafta mention that after discussing your futuristics in a previous posting I went back and re-read them all. Your books, no matter the genre, are all wonderful. I'm looking forward to returning to Harmony.

In addition, Second Sight was awesome! I can't wait for the next installment... what great characters.

Thanks, Jayne!

Thanks for the warning about this title arriving to stores "in a somewhat erratic fashion." I haven't had any success here at the lovely local stores and was beginning to wonder if I had the release date wrong.

Have to know, does Rose (who sounds like my kind of pet)happen to have a special friend named Fuzz?

Glad to be headed back to Cadence for another adventure.

I can't go to the store until I finish my book, because if I get GHOST HUNTER, I'll be sneaking a peek, then another peek, then I'll be up until three in the morning and have no words written. But I can't wait!

btw, can we all smack Elizabeth with a wet washcloth?

ahem.

I take it you want your feathers back?

No, Elizabeth. Anything you pulled off my arse is yours to keep.

So, Christina, I can keep the butt feathers for a Vegas chorus line, but I have to give back the boob feathers?

*hands over two ratty feathers*

There you go.

Ya know, now that you Quill broads are around, I've got yet another reason to avoid writing -- reading your blog. Make that two reasons today, cause my copy of Ghost Hunter just came.

At the prolific rate you release books, I may never get back to writing... Hey, thanks!

Jayne,
I picked up Ghost Hunter yesterday...I knew I should have waited until the weekend to start it! -YAWN- It was worth the loss of sleep :)

I can't wait for the next installment! BTW, anyone have the Green Ghost recipe?

Isn't there a conflict of interest here? If we use up all the ghosts in margaritas, there won't be any work left for ghost-hunters, and Jayne's next paranormal will have to feature a hero who's a certified public accountant...

cifvqnk -- Can I find very quickly (the) new Krentz?

I had to order my copy of Ghost Hunter from my local B & N because they had SOLD OUT! (Mixed emotions: happy for you and pouting for me!) I need to be working on my course for summer 1 semseter anyway, but I'd rather read a good yarn!

I have no idea how that happened. Oh, the joys of the blogs.

I put down an order for Ghost Hunter a month ago but it´s going to take a little more time getting here to Iceland. One thing is funny though. The British version of JAK books tend to get here sooner than do the American issues.

is making me drool. can't wait to get my hands on a copy next pay~!

Loved GHOST HUNTER! But then I love all of Jayne's books whether she's writing as Jayne Castle (the name she was writing under when we first became friends), Jayne Ann Krentz or Amanda Quick!

Jayne: You go girl!

Dear Jayne,
thoroughly enjoyed SECOND SIGHT (Shelley was right - it's outstanding!) and GHOST HUNTER is superb! I didn't think you could improve on Emmett & Lydia, but Elly and Cooper are even better. And Rose. Gotta love a girl who puts such a high priority on jewelry.
Lynne
who is thrilled to report a new Borders just - yesterday - opened in her (nearest) town - and it had Eight (!) copies of GH in stock. Now it has seven ...

PS the librarian touches were also inspired ~

Just had to comment. Will there be any problems caused by the different release dates for Ghost Hunter? I was surprised Tuesday morning when I got the email from Jayne stating that the book was availabe, but that it was also out in some stores the Friday before and some were waiting till the 30th! Isn't there some regulations on releasing books on the same day so the sales for the first week can determine a rating?

I want those of you who are still struggling to find GHOST HUNTER to know how much I appreciate your efforts! Sorry about the crazy laydown on this one. Don't know what went wrong. Sometimes these glitches just happen -- like certain other things in life....

Jayne and all
Amazon.com has copies but cannot/will not ship until the "authorized" release date of 5/30. Frustrating, but I'm sure the wait will do my soul good. Jayne, I'm sorry you -- and some readers -- got caught in the crush. As a 10 year bookseller, we were told we could lose our job if we violated a "street date", so I totally understand the confusion...
Waiting in patience...

Hey Jayne,
I was just reading through the interview and the reader posts. This sounds fabulous!

I've read your historicals for years (Scandal is my all-time favorite, but I've loved them all) and your contemporaries (Perfect Partners is my fave in that, but again, they're all terrific) and I read the Gift of Fire/Gold set.
In fact, I think I've read them at least a dozen times, I loved them so much. Jonas and Verity, right? Those were super sexy too. (I've almost talked myself into another reread, LOL)

But I've never tried one of your futuristics. What the heck is wrong with me? I think this should be the one.

You know, the only futuristic I think I've ever read was Warrior Woman by Johanna Lindsey. And I loved it. I have no idea why I haven't read another.

Soon as I finish up my current book, I'm grabbing Ghost Hunter. I'll check my local bookstore today to see if it's available.

I just adore all your heroes - such hunky Alphas without being overbearing or mean. Just plain yummy. But then, being Alpha has nothing to do with being mean or overbearing.

I'm anxiously looking forward to this now!
Thanks!

Lori
