    Will you still love me....

If I feel too tired, too oatmeal-brained, and can't think of a thing to write about?

Well, this is our chance to find out because all the mental energy I have left is getting used up finishing the book I'm writing at the moment. And deadline time is looming. And I had to go to a wedding today when I didn't want to. And I've got a sprained ankle. And I've been to the chiropractor four times in the past week because my right hip keeps slipping out because I sprained my darned ankle. And I have to sit on the tippy edge of any chair, including while working, so my knees can be angled downward to try to keep the slipping hip from slipping again.

That's it. I'm a useless toad tonight but I'll try to do better next time and I do have a lovely surprise for you this coming Wednesday (nope, not even going to give you a hint) so stay tuned.

    Apologetically,

    Stella

Stella - of course we still love you. I've had many days where my mental energy is at a minus 10 with no words to share. I'll be looking forward to Wednesday - take care of you!

Oh Stella, I am SO sorry to hear all this! Writing can be such a challenge under the best of circumstances, but when you're in pain and can't sit comfortably?
I admire your dedication to finishing the book, and your work ethic.
I hope that the ankle heals soon and that your hip gets better with it.
When you finish this book, you most definitely should take a nice long break! PAMPER YOURSELF.

    Hugs,

    Lori

Stella - I feel for you! I'm impressed you went to the wedding and continued to write. Me, I would have laid on the couch and expected the DH to serve me bon bons.

Oh, Stella. You're not a toad, just a princess who's had a bad week. When that happens to me, I often take on toad-like qualities, but they don't last. Soon I emerge, crown shining, slippers polished, and gown sparkling, to dance in the sunshine again.
What's that? I can already hear the little birds singing and the forest animals chittering, "Look, it's Stella!"

Stella! Here's hoping you feel better soonest, both ankle and hip. Whatta trooper you are to attend a wedding you didn't want to attend. You're a way nicer person than I! LOL.

Some quotes that may just cheer you, Stella:

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."
    ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

"If the English language made any sense, lackadaisical would have something to do with a shortage of flowers."
    ~ Doug Larson

"I don't kill flies but I like to mess with their minds. I hold them above globes. They freak out and yell, 'Whoa, I'm way too high!"
    ~Bruce Baum

"I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three."
    ~Elayne Boosler

Those usually work for me when I'm havin' a crappy day...LOL. By the way, we'll remember that you promised a "surprise"...LOL.

Stella - poor baby... of course we still love you.

If you got a really tight girdle, would it act sort of like an ace bandage and hold your hip in place? Just a thought... Might be uncomfortable, but still...

And yes, you are a better person than I - attending a wedding that you didn't want to go to.

Jayne: Coincidence! Accupuncture--which I've had before and found useful--will be my next resort.

I once made the mistake of going to an accupuncturist in a mall in outer London--one of those chain accupuncture shops they have. Oh, dear. It makes me laugh now because I'm far enough away from the bruising and my brother's derisive comments to be grown up about it.

I've met people who have accupuncture regularly, btw.

Somketimes life sucks, but it certainly beats the alternative! Besides, if it wasn't for the not-so-good times, we wouldn't be able to appreciate the fine times so much. [sez me who is bummed because it's raining and I was planning to walk into town today...]
