    Jayne Does the Air Dance

FIRED UP, the first book in my Dreamlight Trilogy, is out and landed on all the bestseller lists the first week on sale. I know that is because so many of you raced out to buy it and I want to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am, as they say, dancing on air. Well, sort of. You get the picture.

In answer to all the questions that I've gotten on Facebook and at my website, yes, I am writing Fallon's book as we speak. It will be out this time next year. Meanwhile, you'll catch a glimpse of the new woman in his life in FIRED UP.

There's something else interesting in the back of FIRED UP: The first chapter of BURNING LAMP, the second book in the Dreamlight Trilogy. And don't get me started on what it was like to write the middle book of a trilogy before the first book. I never seem to do things the easy way.

If you haven't read FIRED UP, here's another little taste of the story:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Energy shivered in a heavy wave through the alley.

The killer screamed again, a shrill, sharp screech that ended with stunning abruptness. He dropped the knife, clutched at his chest and crumpled to the pavement.

The dark figure loomed over the killer for a moment. She saw him lean down and realized that he was checking for a pulse. She knew that he would not find one. She recognized death when she saw it.

The man straightened and turned toward her. Fear held her immobile. There was something wrong with his face. It was too dark to make out his features but she thought she could see a smoldering energy in the dark spheres where his eyes should have been.

Another wave of panic slammed through her, bringing with it a fresh dose of adrenaline. She scrambled to her feet and fled toward the street, knowing, even as she ran, that it was hopeless. The creature with the burning eyes would cut her down as easily as he had the killer.

But the monster did not pursue her. A block away she finally stopped to catch her breath. When she looked back she saw nothing. The street was empty.

She had always hoped that if the worst happened on the way home she might get some help from the men in the gym across the street. But in the end it was a demon that had saved her

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your warm reception to my Dreamlight Trilogy. I'm so glad that so many of you are enjoying it. By the way, it turns out that Jack Winters' Victorian era ancestor, was a London crime lord. You'll meet Griffin Winters in April.

    Sincerely,

    Jayne

Can't wait to read it, Jayne! It's the next up in my Kindle queue, right after I finish Obsidian Prey. (I went back and started with the first of the Harmony series).

I totally love what you've created with the Arcane Society and the way you've incorporated it across all three of your worlds. You continue to amaze me!

    Can't help myself...I'm FIRED UP!

GINA M:Thank you so much. I'm so glad you're enjoying the Arcane Society series. Not everyone will follow me into all three of my worlds. I really appreciate readers like you, who do, trust me.
I always say that if you like my books, it is because we probably have a lot in common when it comes to core values and world views.

I don't mind that you do things the hard way, Jayne, because the results are so gratifying. Thanks for the insight into Fallon's challenge. I really think I'm going to like her...a lot!
I know you keep a lot on your plate with three worlds, three timelines, and the things you do to market yourself (writers' workshops, blogging, etc.), but I still imagine a little evil genius sitting on your shoulder saying, "What if you try this..." Somehow the ideas keep flowing and you keep making me laugh out loud in amazement.

Oh, I just downloaded Ravished, one of my all-time favorite heroines, one of my all-time favorite heroes, and one of my very favorite stories.

Just like visiting an old friend.

I LOVE Fired Up! I didn't think any book could be better than Obsidian Prey because I absolutely loved that book so much. But it seems Fired up is just as good as Obsidian Prey. They are both on my 'keeper' shelf. I have read just about all your books and I have to say you are one of my all time favorite authors because I know I will love whatever I read from you. :)

I finally got to read FIRED UP this weekend. What a treat! Congratulations on making the bestseller lists too. You deserve every one.

No matter how you set up the stories they always come out fun and interesting. Now, I'm excited and can't wait to read about what happens next.

    Thanks for another wonderful story!

OUTSTANDING, Jayne! Congratulations! How you keep your writing so wonderful just amazes me. I sincerely thought Obsidian Prey was one of your absolute best...and then you come out with Fired Up! PLUS I saw a re-release of Sweet Starfire: What a great time to be a Jayne fan!!

Thanks for all the hours of entertainment!

p.s. Ordered some Arcane mugs at Zazzle: LOVED THE RESULTS. Not only am I an agent, I've got my own, personalized, sweet mug!!!

    Congrats Jayne,
Fired Up was tons of fun to read, and I can't wait for the second (first?) book in the series. It's already on pre-order. I got the book plates too, and they are awesome. I love the Arcane logo. I think you are just having too much fun with this series.

I read ALL your books and love them all. (You take of two shelves on my keeper shelves.) Fired Up was fabulous and I am so excited to hear Fallon is finally getting his book! YAY! Can't wait until the second book is released.

I loved Fired Up - I read it twice over the weekend before I returned it to the library for the next patron who had a hold on it.

I enjoyed reading about Fallon and am looking forward to his book next year.

I have read your books for years under whatever name or genre you've written in. Love 'em and reread them all the time.

Thanks for so many years of pleasurable reading.

LYNNE: Glad you liked the peek. As for Ravished, a lot of people tell me that is one of their very favorite AQs. I think the reason is that it is based on very pure forms of the classic archetypes. It was fun to write.

SUSAN: Thanks so much for the congrats! I was thrilled, believe me.

MARY: I'm delighted and honored to know that you put FIRED UP on your keeper shelf -- even if it didn't have any dust bunnies!

JENNIFER S: If you enjoyed FIRED UP, I think you'll like BURNING LAMP -- my first full-on, no punches pulled (well maybe a few) crime lord. Honestly, I think it only works in Victorian London. Just couldn't do that story in modern day America.

CARLA: Thanks. I don't mind you reading it by the fire but I do try to avoid referring to it by the initials...An unfortunate acronym if ever there was one.

CHRIS TINA: Oh, I'm so glad you like the mugs. Generally speaking, Zazzle does a good job with the online store items, I think. And I'm thrilled to know that you enjoyed both FIRED UP and OBSIDIAN PREY.

K.L. Whoa! You may be right. It's possible I'm having way too much fun with this series. Somebody stop me. No, don't. Please.

BRANDY: Thanks and I'm honored to know I'm getting shelf space in your home. Woo hoo! That's the highest compliment you can pay an author.

DARLENE: You read me twice in one weekend? Cool. Thanks so much for that back-to-back read.

JEMI: Thanks but the only reason it happened is because so many readers liked the series enough to go out and pick up the new book. I've got the best readers in the whole wide world and I am so grateful!

Jayne- Loved it! I hope the Kindle sales count towards the best sellers lists. I don't want to cheat you out of that, but MUST conserve space!
I was supprised and intrigued that Fallon and Jack are old friends!Loved Chloe and Jack, and of course you tantalize us with glimpses of Fallon and his new intrest.....not to mention our friends from Running Hot, and Sizzle and burn!

I am in the middle of re-reading "Ravished" this time on my kindle. Its funny, I just got done commentiong on your Amanda Quick facebook page about how/why this was one of my all-time favorite heroines! Arch-typical or not, I love , love , love, the compassion, charicter, (and cuteness)!!!

And, just to make sure you know , I am very excited to finally be able to get some of you older AQ titles on Kindle. I was experiencing a great deal of frustration when books would be re-issued, but STILL not for Kindle.

Thanks for all the happy reading-----Jill

Jayne, I absolutely loved Fired Up, recommended it to my readers on my newsletter and I'm hearing that THEY loved it as well. (You make me look good--my readers all know I have excellent taste in books.)

When I ordered Fired Up, I saw where Sweet Starfire had been rereleased and since I didn't have it (How could I have missed that one?) I bought that book as well and absolutely love the story. Your books always leave me smiling--as a reader I can't possibly ask for more--as an author I just wish I could do it as well.

KATE: Thanks so much for recommending FIRED UP to your readers! I appreciate that. Yes, SWEET STARFIRE has just been reissued. The other two early futuristics that I wrote that same year -- CRYSTAL FLAME and SHIELD'S LADY -- are also scheduled to be released again this spring.

Hi Jayne...I read CRYSTAL FLAME and SHIELD'S LADY many years ago and they were a big favorite of mine. I always wanted to know what happened with these characters..never a sequel???

SWEET STARFIRE is one I don't believe I read. Must get it!

I just read Fired Up...I have to say it was really good. Dear Husband had to ask me 6x's for something, before I could bring myself out of the story..nice going, I can't wait for the other 2!!
